Target Logistics opens full service facility in Tulsa
Target Logistic Services has just opened a full service freight facility in Tulsa, OK to serve that city’s growing domestic and international cargo market. The new facility is located just minutes away from Tulsa International Airport. Target is offering a complete menu of services including air, surface and ocean transport, inventory control, warehousing, handling and quality inspections. The freight forwarder is providing a network of distribution services to all sections of the US from Tulsa in addition to all major international destinations with the emphasis on Asia.
The new facility is managed by Patrick Kersey, a veteran of the airline and cargo business. Mr. Kersey began his airline career as an agent with Braniff Airlines, rising to positions of increasing responsibility with leading cargo organizations including BAX Global.
He is being aided by a team of experienced sales and operational professionals who are fully knowledgeable in the cargo demands of commerce and industry not only in Tulsa but throughout the entire state of Oklahoma.
Mr. Kersey commented, “Tulsa long ago has outgrown its dependence on the energy industry although oil and natural gas companies remain an integral part of the Tulsa business community. Aerospace has become at least as equally important with a number of ground simulator training companies headquartered here in addition to prime airline bases for carriers like American Airlines.” He noted that Tulsa also is growing as a hi-tech base with these types of companies requiring rapid, precise delivery of components and finished products. “We expect to serve this healthy, expanding sector of the Tulsa business scene with on-site, full service capabilities,” Kersey added.
The new facility will handle primarily “heavy weight” cargo; shipments of more than 50 pounds that include a broad list of commodities ranging from oil service machinery to components for aerospace equipment, to automobile parts, trade show equipment and retail set-ups.
The new Tulsa facility is linked to Target’s network of domestic and international offices through an advanced IT system that provides almost instantaneous tracking and retrieval information for shippers.
