Envirotainer signs agreement with CHEP Aerospace Solutions
Envirotainer has signed a strategic worldwide agreement with CHEP Aerospace Solutions to strengthen its ability to serve the active cold chain requirements of the pharmaceutical and healthcare industry.
Furthermore, Envirotainer will establish four new fully Envirotainer-operated competence centres in Atlanta, Amsterdam, Singapore and Vienna to further strengthen its ability to serve the cold chain market with state-of-the-art air cargo containers.
CHEP Aerospace Solutions, a world leader in ULD and galley cart maintenance and repair operations (MRO) and complete ULD management solutions, will ensure that Envirotainer’s full suite of high quality standard processes for container maintenance, repair and handling are performed consistently all over the world, while also significantly expanding Envirotainer’s ability to expand its active cold chain solutions network in Asia and other key, high growth markets.
This new partnership is expected to spark innovation and additional process development within the MRO and ground handling market by leveraging the knowledge and resources of both companies, whilst also delivering economies of scale and further efficiencies for Envirotainer’s network of stations.
Envirotainer and CHEP Aerospace Solutions say the partnership is a perfect strategic fit that will leverage the two companies’ respective strengths and market leadership positions. The two companies have forged an OEM and development relationship in which CHEP Aerospace Solutions will provide Envirotainer with industry-leading IT capabilities by placing CHEP Aerospace Solutions’ repair management system, ACTIS, at its stations.
In addition, certain assets and resources from Envirotainer’s pool of competency will be brought together into a new joint service offer which will provide active cold chain solutions to a larger group of customers currently using passive solutions.
“Today’s announcement with CHEP Aerospace Solutions is another solid step in our journey to build on our strong foundation in Active Cold Chain services and to further expand our capabilities. It takes our global service network into a new era,” said Gustaf Ljunggren, CEO of Envirotainer. “This partnership will help us fully deliver on our network strategy by giving us strong IT back-end capabilities and MRO excellence, in addition to our already strong global service network. CHEP Aerospace Solutions is the best partner to help us fully realize the strategic global service network we want to establish in the long term.”
Ludwig Bertsch, President of CHEP Aerospace Solutions, said, “Our relationship with Envirotainer represents an excellent opportunity for CHEP to expand our MRO solutions within this high-end part of the business. The Active Cold Chain is a vibrant and very important market, and we will look to extend it to other parts of the world over time. Envirotainer has clearly demonstrated its ability to apply its considerable resources and expertise not only to enter, but to lead the Active Cold Chain market. We’re excited to partner with Envirotainer as we focus our combined energies on serving a broader range of customers with industry-leading MRO services.”
