The awards were announced at this year’s Susan Yuen Memorial Lecture and Dinner, which took place on 3 October 2012 at JW Marriott Hotel Hong Kong, attended by senior executives from HR and management of Hong Kong companies.
The Award for Excellence in Training and Development has been organised by the Human Resources Development Management Committee of the HKMA since 1990. It is the only award of its kind in Hong Kong that gives public recognition of achievements in training and development to individuals as well as companies.
Hactl won the Excellence Award in the newly-introduced Skills Training Category, in recognition of its extensive training activities to improve job-specific skills, knowledge and behaviour, and their contribution to its business results.
Hactl Senior IT Coordinator, Rose Wong, also received an Individual Award – the Outstanding New Trainer Award. Ms Wong played a major role in the customer and staff training programme for Hactl’s new COSAC-Plus Cargo Management System, teaching a total of over 250 personnel about the new system and its features during the COSAC-Plus training period of August 2011 to March 2012.
Says Cindy Ng, General Manager – Information Services, Hactl: “The HKMA Awards are particularly important to us, as the organisation’s constant efforts to drive excellence in staff management practices are widely-acknowledged.
“We regard people as Hactl’s biggest asset, and invest a great deal of time and resource in the education and welfare of our workforce. It’s therefore extremely gratifying to have this prestigious recognition of our efforts, and we thank the expert judging panel for their decision.”
