“As a publicly-traded, Hawaii-based company, it is essential that Matson demonstrate its commitment to the state by proactively engaging in government and community relations activities,” said Matt Cox, president and CEO, Matson. “Ku’u Park’s extensive background in working with the state on transportation matters, as well as his strong record of community involvement, will ensure Matson has an experienced, highly regarded individual representing the company in public affairs. Equally important, Ku’u’s expertise will help the company further develop its community outreach through the Matson Foundation.”
By gubernatorial appointment, Park was named to the State Commission on Transportation and has just completed his second term as its chair. He currently sits on the board of directors of the Institute for Human Services, the Hawaii Law Enforcement Memorial Foundation, the Hawaii Home Ownership Center, the Makaha Sons Foundation and the Na Koa Football Club.
