IICL elects new chairman The Institute of International Container Lessors’ (IICL) President, Steven Blust, announced that Jeremy Matthew, Group CEO of Seaco Srl, has been elected to the position of Chairman of the IICL for 2013, succeeding Brian Sondey of TAL International Group, Inc.

Matthew has 25 years experience in the financial industry with the last 10 years spent in the equipment leasing market in Europe and Asia.

“On behalf of the IICL’s Board of Directors and staff, I would like to extend our sincere gratitude to Brian Sondey for his leadership during last year’s dynamic times” said Blust, “and look forward to another active year ahead under Mr. Matthew’s Chairmanship.”

“I am happy to assume the role of Chairman of the IICL for 2013” said Mr. Matthew, “and am looking forward to working with our member companies to drive forward the current industry initiatives being worked on.”

The IICL’s Board also elected Celine Wei, President of Florens Container Services Company Ltd., as First Vice President; Philip Brewer, President and CEO of Textainer Group Holdings Limited, as Second Vice President; and George Elkas, President of Flexi-Van Leasing, Inc., as Treasurer. Keith Lovetro, President & CEO of TRAC Intermodal, and Richard Barreau, Managing Director of TOUAX Global Container Solutions, were elected as Executive Committee Members at Large.
