​The South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT) urges motorists to stay off roads as at least 211 state roads and 43 bridges are closed due to historic flooding in South Carolina. Acting SCDOT Secretary Christy A. Hall said, “The average vehicle can be swept away in as a little as 12 inches of moving water and stalled out in as little as two feet of water.”
