Louisiana Governor John Bel Edwards announced his appointment of Katie Klibert of LaPlace, Louisiana to the Port of South Louisiana Commission. She is filling the position left vacant by Patrick C. Sellars, who passed away on July 22, 2021. Klibert is a native of St. John the Baptist Parish and, along with her husband and son, has lived and worked in the River Region for over 20 years.

The surging cost of manufacturing materials and shipping could threaten 50 gigawatts (GW) – a staggering 56% – of the 90 GW of global utility PV developments planned for 2022, a Rystad Energy analysis shows. Commodity price inflation and supply chain bottlenecks could lead to the postponement or even cancelation of some of these projects, impacting demand and consumer pricing for solar-generated power.

United Parcel Service Inc. rode higher prices and strong delivery demand driven by e-commerce to post profit that topped analysts’ expectations. It also raised its operating margin outlook to 13% for 2021 from an earlier target of 12.7%.
