American Airlines Cargo Division (AA Cargo) announced today it received the "International Airline of the Year" award from the Express Delivery and Logistics Association (XLA) at its annual AirCargo 2008 Conference in Orlando, Fla.

AA Cargo President Dave Brooks accepted the "International Airline of the Year" award, as well as additional recognition for a second place finish in the competition among U.S. airlines for "Best Domestic Carrier." The awards are determined by an annual survey of XLA members who use the services of carriers for their express deliveries around the world.

"We are extremely honored to receive recognition from this group of particularly demanding customers who require the highest level of service throughout our global network," Brooks said. "Every American Airlines employee should be very proud of these two awards, which were a result of our collective commitment to serving the air cargo industry."

AirCargo 2008 is the premier annual trade show and conference for the Air and Expedited Motor Carriers Association (AEMCA), the Airforwarders Association (AfA), and the Express Delivery & Logistics Association (XLA). Each year, AirCargo brings together industry experts within the express delivery, freight forwarding and expedited motor carrier industries.
