More than 200 seaport leaders from throughout the Western Hemisphere gathered March 19-20 at the Willard Inter-Continental Hotel in Washington as the American Association of Port Authorities held its 61st annual spring conference.
At an evening reception sponsored by the Virginia Port Authority, conference attendees got to chat informally with each other, as well as with actors portraying Capt. John Smith and Pocahontas.
Among events slated for Sept. 30-Oct. 4, when the Virginia Port Authority hosts AAPA's 96th annual convention, is a celebration of the 400th anniversary of the founding of Jamestown, the first port in America. (Photos by Paul Scott Abbott, AJOT)
