Loren Hatfield takes second place in the straight truck class; David Hall takes second place in the 4-axle class FORT SMITH, Arkansas - ABF Freightsm, an ArcBest company (Nasdaq: ARCB), is proud to recognize Loren Hatfield and David Hall, who won second-place honors in their respective classes at the 2015 National Truck Driving Championships held in St. Louis. The event, hosted by the American Trucking Associations, featured over 400 of the country’s top professional drivers competing in a skills test, pre-trip inspection and a written exam. The NTDC competitors were made up of the winners in eight classes of competition from 50 state trucking associations’ Truck Driving Championships. “These driving champions have distinguished themselves with extraordinary skill and professionalism,” said ABF Freight President Tim Thorne. “Loren and David are outstanding examples of trucking professionals who are dedicated to making our highways safer for all drivers. Everyone at ABF Freight greatly appreciates their hard work and dedication, and we’re proud of the way they represent our organization and the trucking industry.” Hatfield, of Maumelle, Arkansas, who competed at Nationals for the sixth time, placed second in the straight truck class. He serves as an America’s Road Team Captain. His record includes twice earning the highest written score at the Arkansas Truck Driving Championships, where he has earned honors as rookie of the year, grand champion, top sportsman and best pre-trip inspection. Hatfield has driven accident-free for 22 years and has accumulated over 2.5 million accident-free miles. Hall, of Austin, Arkansas, who competed at Nationals for the fourth time, placed second in the 4-axle class. While competing at the Arkansas Truck Driving Championships 14 times, he has earned first-place honors four times and grand champion honors twice. Hall has driven accident-free for 28 years and has accumulated over 2.1 million accident-free miles.
