Aloha Air Cargo, Hawaii's largest air-freight carrier, announced today the hiring of a director of sales and business development and promotion of an existing employee.

Johnny Hobayan joins Aloha Air Cargo as its new director of sales and business development, bringing 12 years of experience in the shipping industry to the company. Hobayan's main focus will be to drive cargo sales for the company ' his core responsibilities will include new business development, management of existing client accounts and strategic planning with the executive team. Prior to joining Aloha Air Cargo, Hobayan was employed by DHL Express ' Hawaii where he held various positions as the government contracts administrator for the Department of Defense ' Hawaii and AP Gateway, national account manager and manager of international sales. He has also spent time with DHL's corporate team and began his logistics career holding several managerial positions with United Parcel Service. Hobayan attended California State University Long Beach where he earned a Bachelor of Science in business administration and marketing as well as a Master of Business Administration.

Chris Dau has been promoted to manager of systems control from his previous post as chief dispatcher. Dau is tasked with managing the dispatch department while retaining his Federal Aviation Regulation 119 responsibilities as chief dispatcher, which includes overseeing Federal Aviation Administration compliance issues for day-to-day operation. With extensive knowledge in his field, Dau has also been responsible for revision of Aloha Air Cargo manuals and training incoming dispatch and flight crew personnel.' In his position as chief dispatcher, Dau manages a strong team of dispatchers that has consistently been instrumental in passing Approved Continuous Examination Program (ACEP) inspections. Dau holds numerous Boeing Performance Engineer certifications which he has earned throughout his career and is active in the aviation industry as a member of the State of Hawaii Flight Safety Forum, Airline Dispatchers Federation (ADF) and International Federation of Air Line Dispatchers Association (IFALDA).
