Amber Road, a leading provider of Global Trade Management (GTM) solutions, announced its proprietary Global Knowledge® Update Process achieved ISO 9001:2008 certification. The ISO 9001:2008 is an internationally recognized set of standards for quality management systems developed and published by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO). To achieve certification, Amber Road demonstrated its quality management system for its Global Knowledge® Update Process as consistently providing global trade content that meets customer and applicable statutory and regulatory requirements; enhances customer satisfaction; and includes continuous process improvement strategies. Amber Road’s ISO 9001:2008-certified quality management system includes a number of internal processes. It has an established, documented content update process to track updates from the initiation stage to completion and delivery to clients, and conducts biannual internal audits and annual external audits of its entire content update process. Amber Road also has plans and strategies to anticipate and prevent potential problems. “The quality policies and objectives that we’ve set define our overall goals for meeting customer expectations,” said Anthony Hardenburgh, vice president of Global Trade Content, Amber Road. “Because a regulatory violation can damage a company’s brand or result in a significant fine, we take content quality and accuracy very seriously.” The Global Knowledge® Update Process involves gathering, translating, interpreting and updating country-specific trade regulations  for Amber Road’s GTM solutions. These solutions enable companies to quickly and easily perform country-specific compliance checks for imported and exported goods, streamline and manage the selection of global carriers, and instantly book and manage international freight. Additionally, companies can use these solutions to automatically track product, container and shipment level details as goods move around the world; collaborate with foreign suppliers; and lower costs by taking advantage of preferential duty programs. Amber Road’s Global Knowledge® Update Process was originally awarded the ISO 9001:2008 standard certification for its quality management system in July 2012.
