APS Technology Group, Inc., a leading provider of OCR and automation technology solutions for marine and intermodal terminals, announced that Michael McMinn has joined the company as VP Engineering. McMinn will be responsible for all APS product solutions, software development and R&D for all existing marine and intermodal product lines. Founded in 2002, APS Technology has over 700 Gate OCR and automation solutions installed in 39 marine and intermodal terminals in 14 countries.

McMinn has 22 years of engineering, product development and leadership experience in the imaging technology and shipping industries. Prior to joining APS, McMinn was Product Manager for SAIC of San Diego, leading the company’s marine and intermodal automation systems development. Before that, he was President and chief engineer of Zedec Vision Systems, a developer of analytical imaging systems. McMinn has a B.S. degree in Mathematics from the University of Kentucky.
