According to a company spokesperson, Averitt received the 'LTL Carrier of the Year' award in recognition of its efforts to meet or exceed Dollar General's expectations in terms of on-time service, quality and flexibility. In order to earn the 'Carrier Partner of the Year' award, however, Averitt was required to have been innovative and proactive in meeting Dollar General's transportation needs in several areas, including LTL, truckload and dedicated services.
