Gary Bartek, Marketing Manager Cargo Development, Kansas City International Airport, has been elected to a two-year term as Chairman of The International Air Cargo Association (TIACA) at that organization's Annual General Meeting held this month in Istanbul, Turkey.

Bartek succeeds Ms. Dora Kay, head of International Marketing for the Airport Authority Hong Kong, who has held the post since 2003.

In accepting the chairman's position, Bartek praised Dora Kay for her leadership of TIACA and for her outspoken support of the liberalization of international air cargo policies and increased market access.

"During her term as Chairman of TIACA, Dora Kay has helped to establish TIACA's position that air cargo is not only a facilitator of international trade but an important engine for economic development," he said.

Jack Boisen, Vice President Cargo for Houston-based Continental Airlines, was elected Vice Chairman of TIACA at the AGM. Boisen is a Director of TIACA and is Chairman of the Air Cargo Council of the Air Transport Association.

TIACA's AGM also reviewed the past year's activities and discussed the organization's plans, operations and budget for the coming year. In addition to electing a Chairman and Vice Chairman of TIACA, Trustee members also elected new Members to the Board of Directors.
