TYLER, Texas - Three Brookshire Grocery Co. truck drivers competed at the American Trucking Association’s National Truck Driving Championship Aug. 11-15 in St. Louis, Missouri. There were 415 drivers who competed from all 50 states in nine classes of operations.  Ronnie Davis, from the distribution center in Tyler, finished 4th in the sleeper class.  From the distribution center in Monroe, Louisiana, Gary Tyler was 22nd in the tank class, and Layne Arant finished 23rd in the 4 axle class. Tests included skills, knowledge of safety and trucking industry and an equipment safety inspection.  “Drivers must be at the top of their profession to compete at the National Truck Driving Competition.  We are very proud of Layne, Gary and Ronnie’s accomplishments,” said President and CEO Rick Rayford. “They are truly among the best in the trucking industry, and we couldn’t be happier with how they represented BGC at the national level.”
