Dark clouds and pelting rain didn't stop GAC from making everything 'A-OK' when the Sesame Street 'LIVE' Out of This World! tour rolled into Downtown East Singapore in early June.

As logistics provider for the Sesame Street show in Singapore, GAC transported 25,000 kg of costumes, props, lighting and sound equipment, as well as a massive electric transformer, in a 40-foot container and six airline pallets by sea and air from Minneapolis, MN.

The rough weather wasn't the only challenge GAC faced. The loading bay at Downtown East was too narrow to accommodate the container, so the cargo had to be unpacked and repacked into smaller loads at GAC's warehouse in Changi before it could continue its journey to its final destination.

Ronnie Soon, GAC Singapore's Projects Manager - Logistics Services, explains that the cargo was divided up into 70 crates for delivery in five separate loads to Downtown East by smaller trucks.

When the show ends on June 25, the GAC team will have just 24 hours to repack everything into two containers for sea shipment back to Minneapolis.

"It will be a challenge, but one we can rise to," says Ronnie. "We have worked within even tighter deadlines before."

And he knows what he's talking about. Ronnie has personally handled many challenging entertainment logistics jobs in Singapore, including the Asian concert tours of the Rolling Stones and Alicia Keys.
