After a legal battle that lasted over six years, the fight for competition and freedom of choice in the outbound International Mail market in Canada has now ended positively for the industry, its employees and its customers.

Spring is delighted to announce that the Canadian Senate passed bill C-9 which includes a change to the law and the Canada Post monopoly. The change means that outbound International Mail is no longer the exclusive privilege of Canada Post and is open to competition as indeed has been the practise if not the law for the last 25 years.

This is excellent news for customers, the mail industry and the market in general. It means that customers now have a real choice for their International Mail and Spring are once again, able to offer full value-added international mailing services.

Iain McLure CEO Spring' 'This important legislative change to the Canada Post Corporation Act confirms the legitimacy of this long-standing and competitive industry in Canada.' After six years of uncertainty we can now move forward and continue providing our customers and clients with the exceptional, value-added international mailing services that they have come to expect over the past 25 years.'
