Cargo activity at Rickenbacker International Airport indicate a modest increase thus far in 2010.

At Rickenbacker International Airport over 12.5 million pounds of cargo moved through the airport in September for a 1.5 percent decrease compared to September 2009. Year-to-date cargo numbers reflect the movement of over 112 million pounds, which is up one percent from the previous year.

'Activity at Rickenbacker International Airport has stabilized after the national economy and aviation industry suffered financial setbacks in 2008 and 2009,' explained David Whitaker, Vice President of Business Development & Communications for the Columbus Regional Airport Authority.

Cargo-dedicated Rickenbacker International Airport is located within the Rickenbacker Inland Port, a multi-modal logistics hub known internationally for its impressive network of freight forwarders, cargo airlines, trucking companies, an intermodal facility and a Foreign-Trade Zone.
