Cargoitalia, Italy's all-cargo flag carrier, has appointed Richard Mohler to the newly-created position of Manager - Network Planning and Revenue Management.

In his new post, Mohler will be responsible for the evaluation of new routes, and then setting and achieving their revenue targets.

Mohler has spent 16 years in aviation, holding a wide variety of posts covering areas including revenue management, business development, aircraft evaluation, planning, capacity management, scheduling and traffic rights. Following graduation from the University of Berne, his career began at Swissair Cargo, and has included six years running his own aviation consultancy.

Meanwhile Cargoitalia has promoted Stefano Barone as its first Chief Representative for China and the Far East; he was previously Industry Affairs Manager.

Barone's new post, based in Shanghai, involves supervising all Cargoitalia operations in the region, including setting and achieving revenue targets.

A graduate in aviation studies at Bocconi University, Barone joined Air Dolomiti in 1997, where he held various posts and was a member of the team that ultimately integrated the airline into Lufthansa. He re-joined Air Dolomiti founder Alcide Leali in 2006 to work on the project that eventually led to the purchase and re-launch of Cargoitalia.

Says Cargoitalia MD Giacomo Manzon: 'These are two very significant additions to our senior management line-up.

'Richard's appointment acknowledges the vital importance of professional network development to the next phase of Cargoitalia's expansion. We are also delighted to recognise Stefano's immense contribution to the development of Cargoitalia with his promotion, which will help us to build further on the success of our Far East operations.'
