Effective January 1993, Fiji, a country made up of 322 islands, became a signatory to the United States/Pacific Island Nations Joint Commercial Commission (JCC) which was created to promote commercial and economic relations between the United States and the independent Pacific island nations, including Fiji. Resources and support for U.S. exporters is provided by JCC’s administrative department, The Pacific Islands Development Program (PIDP) in Honolulu, which supports the continued development of this cooperation.
