CenterPoint Properties has announced a new 315,810 SF speculative building within the CenterPoint Intermodal Center – Savannah. The facility will be located on 26 acres of the transportation and logistics park, offering direct access to the Georgia Port Authority, the NS Dillard Yard and direct rail service from Norfolk Southern. John Neely of Colliers will have direct responsibilities for marketing the facility. “Savannah has been one of the fastest growing port markets for more than a decade,” said Brian McKiernan, Senior Vice President, Development of CenterPoint. “The influx of diverted container traffic from the West Coast only underscores the region's need for more warehouse and distribution space to accommodate rising demand. We're thrilled to pursue speculative projects like this to expand Savannah's industrial capacity and help businesses tap into its extensive transportation network,” stated McKiernan. The CenterPoint Intermodal Center – Savannah has seen consistent development and leasing activity over the past year. In January, construction was completed on a 3.1-acre transload storage operation in the park for KW International. Last October, CenterPoint executed a 20-year strategic lease on a 35,400 SF built-to-suit container storage facility for Quala, providing a critical customer solution to enhance efficiency and efficacy for Quala’s business.  At completion, CIC-Savannah will comprise more than 1.3 Million SF of industrial facilities and 30 acres of container and trailer storage management facilities.
