In response to increasing demand in Indonesia for world-class Inland Container Depot (ICD) facilities, two Indonesian-based entrepreneurs launched PT. Good Logistics (GL) Terminal in late 2020. The facility is based in Jakarta, only 10km from Jakarta port, and has an annual throughput capacity of 180,000 TEUs. Sandra Kilroy has been hired as the Port of Seattle’s new Senior Director of Environment, Sustainability, and Engineering. Since 2018, Kilroy was the Port of Seattle’s Director, Maritime Environment and Sustainability, where she provided strategic direction and policy guidance to a team responsible for maritime and economic development environmental issues.

Sweden’s first container barge shuttle service on inland waterways started operation on June 1st between Stockholm Norvik Port and the Port of Västerås. The container barge shuttle service carries the equivalent of around 200 road haulage vehicles, alleviating road network congestion and significantly decreasing carbon dioxide emissions in the region. Services will be operated by German shipping company Deymann.
