As the massive Chinese manufacturing based economy rolls forward, the volume of postal traffic is expanding at a rapid speed. In order to handle such volumes efficiently, China Post is cooperating with China Southern Airlines to handle a major part of this business. In order to streamline the flows to vital international destinations, Mr. Zhou DA, Vice President Cargo of China Southern Airlines Co. Ltd. and JF Bouilhaguet, Managing Director of Sodexi, have signed a contract on mail and express transfer business in which CZ employs the unique Sodexi computer based scanning system in Guangzhou. This easy to use system will process postal traffic at the airline's Guangzhou head office facility. The scanned bags are flown with China Southern's daily flight to the Sodexi facility at Paris CDG, where worldwide distribution is carried out via the Skyteam network, of which China Southern is a new member.

Zhou Da feels strongly that this is by far the best and most efficient method for efficient mail processing. 'Our own network is extensive and China's postal market is one of the biggest in the world. Being part of Skyteam, our cooperation with Sodexi gives us direct access to the Skyteam network and strongly proved that combining strength creates added value to our customer.. This excellent scanning system has enabled us to streamline the operation. We now plan our mail expansion in partnership with Sodexi which clearly is the most innovative handler in its field. Personally I find that JF Bouilhaguet's 'hands on' management style is perfectly suited to our objectives.'

JF Bouilhaguet explains. 'This agreement represents a perfect match for our development plans as not only will we now handle bigger volumes of postal traffic in Paris, but thanks to China Southern, we will be able to reach other markets such as New Zealand where we currently have no network'
