CMA CGM has announced a new weekly, direct container service from the West Coast of South America, Central America, and Mexico to Southern California providing importers from those regions with unique and competitive shipping alternatives for both dry and refrigerated commodities.

The first vessel to call Long Beach will be the M/V CMA CGM QUETZAL V-148W, with estimated arrival at Long Beach Pier J on March 9, 2006.

The new service will make direct calls at the following ports:

San Antonio, Chile

San Vicente, Chile

Callao, Peru

Buenaventura, Columbia

Caldera, Costa Rica

Puerto Quetzal, Guatemala

Manzanillo, Mexico

Long Beach, California

Transshipment service is offered from other ports in Chile in addition to Ecuador, Nicaragua, and El Salvador.

The call in Southern California becomes part of CMA CGM's direct service from Asia to Central America and South America (ACSA). Therefore, with a northbound call at Long Beach, the service will also add an additional sailing to CMA CGM's existing Westbound services to Asia with a non-stop sailing from Long Beach to Hong Kong.
