The CMA CGM Galilee was the first containership of the new NEMO service calling the Port of Hamburg. With a transit time of just 31 days between Hamburg and Fremantle, the NEW NEMO service is the most rapid connection between Europe and Australia, and the only direct one. Ports served by NEW NEMO's round trip are Hamburg, Rotterdam, Le Havre, La Spezia, Damietta, Fremantle, Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne, Adelaide, Singapore, Port Kelang, Chennai, Colombo, Damietta, Marsaxlokk, La Spezia and Tilbury.

The new service is operating with six vessels from the shipping company CMA CGM and another six from Hapag-Lloyd, each with a capacity of 2100 to 2800 TEU. With weekly departures, the round trip takes 84 days. The shipping lines Marfret, ANL and DAL have already booked slots on NEW NEMO. Container terminal in Hamburg for this new the service is the HHLA Container Terminal Burchardkai (CTB).

Built in 2003 at Hyundai's Mipo Dockyard in Ulsan, South Korea, the container ship is 222 meters long, 30 meters wide and has a container capacity of 2800 TEUs as well as 560 reefer connections.
