The CMA CGM Group announced that it was recently honored with the 2008-2009 ‘Ocean Carrier of the Year award’ by Wal-Mart in recognition of its commitment to excellent service.
According to Wal-Mart, CMA CGM received the award based on its ability and willingness to provide efficient value added services and offer flexibility when needed.
This high performance service was achieved thanks to the excellent coordination between CMA CGM’s worldwide agencies and the head office that together, were able to come up with tailor-made solutions even in this difficult economic climate.
This award is recognized in the industry as the benchmark of superior performance with more than 19 service criteria assessed on a monthly basis, including delivery of superior customer service, documentation and data quality and timeliness, on time vessel performance and responsiveness and flexibility.

The CMA CGM Group has worked closely with Wal-Mart since 2005 including membership together in the Clean Cargo group where both companies work closely to reduce their environmental footprint.
