As originally introduced last May, REZ-1 has developed a suite of business services including container visibility and distribution, automated rail billing, and line haul storage and invoicing tools tailored to address the challenges facing steamship lines and other private asset owners. These services combine to provide an effective solution that both streamlines processes and increases accessibility to inland container inventories, ultimately reducing the amount of empty repositioning and associated inland transportation costs.

CMA CGM launched their initiative in several major metros early this past June, transitioning an existing domestic reload program and customer base to the REZ-1 platform. When asked about the new program, CMA CGM's Director of Network Optimization & Contract Compliance, Ryan Houfek said, 'Leaving a functional system to be the first ocean carrier to utilize REZ-1's services was a risky move from our perspective. After our first full month of operation with REZ-1, we can say with confidence that we made the right decision.' Likewise, REZ-1 could not be more pleased with the implementation of the program and looks forward to its continued growth and success.

Serving this market has been a virtually seamless transition for REZ-1 with an existing application user community that consists of over 250 of the leading intermodal marketing companies and third-party logistics companies, as well as hundreds of regional drayage companies throughout North America. This built in community has been relying the ChannelSpeed and StreetSpeed applications as part of their daily operations for access to rail-controlled container and trailer programs including CSXU and EMP fleets as well as free running trailer programs, prior to privatization.
