CN has announced that members of the Unifor shopcraft group representing 2,100 company car mechanics, heavy-duty equipment mechanics and electricians in Canada have ratified a four-year labor agreement. The shopcraft group's ratification follows earlier ratification of 51-month term contracts by Unifor's clerical/intermodal, Savage Alberta Railway, excavator-operator and CNTL owner-operator members at CN. Unifor represents 4,800 CN employees in four bargaining units at CN. Jim Vena, CN executive vice-president and chief operating officer, said: "We are pleased that we have renewed the final collective agreement with Unifor in the current round of bargaining. This shopcraft agreement allows us to continue our efforts to improve efficiency and customer service."
