Oy Procargo - Professional Cargo Care Ltd, WWPC Member for Finland and Ocean Knight Shipping, WWPC Member for Shanghai/China, combined forces to arrange for a safe and ontime delivery of a 34 tons metallic roll plus other equipment from Finland to a paperfactory near Shanghai in China.

The transportation was performed' by airlift through a chartered Ilyushing76TD-90VD from WWPC sponsor Ruslan International. The plane brought along it's sophisticated extension ramp/roller system onto which the heavy piece of roll was loaded by two cranes and safely positioned into the aircraft by the planes internal winch system.

After holding the previous two records for heaviest single piece load onto this type of plane, Procargo's Managing Director Wolfgang Karau stated that yet another heavy cargo single piece for this aircraft was operated through his company. He said: "Using the skills and techniques of the existing fleet of Russian operated cargo airplanes of various sizes is common for global operating forwarders, such as our company. It is always a good experience to attend loading/offloading and flights with the cargo of clients, so one knows how these kind of operations work."

In Shanghai, Ocean Knight Shipping pulled out all the stops to ensure safe offloading, customs clearance and inland transportation to the final jobsite. This was a real challenge, keeping in mind the present circumstances regarding tight security demands due to the ongoing Worldexpo in that city.

Despite'torrential rains in Shanghai during the time of the offloading operations, Ocean Knights Project Manager, Mrs. Evan Chen, managed to keep the time schedule agreed with crane operators, haulers and airport authorities.
