Con-way Freight, a less-than-truckload (LTL) carrier and subsidiary of Con-way Inc., announced it has been recognized as 2010 Carrier of the Year by ENACT, LLC, a transportation technology and third-party logistics provider serving North America. ENACT presented the company with the prestigious award at Con-way Freight headquarters in Ann Arbor, Mich., on April 7th.

Con-way Freight is one of more than 3,000 trucking companies in ENACT's transportation network. As a preferred carrier for ENACT in 2010, the company achieved superior ratings in the four measurement criteria used to determine top performance: on-time service, customer support, claims ratio and missed pickups. Con-way Freight is the first LTL carrier to receive the Carrier of the Year distinction from ENACT.

'I've always been impressed with the leadership of Con-way Freight and how they empower their employees to go above and beyond expectations to service the customer, which was evident in their every day operations,' said Marc Brajkovich, president of ENACT. 'It was an honor to travel to Ann Arbor to personally thank the team at Con-way Freight for their hard work and outstanding overall performance in 2010. They are truly the industry leader in on-time service and quality of product.'

Con-way Freight, which began working with ENACT in 2009, handles thousands of LTL shipments annually for the company and its customers. This is the second year that ENACT has conducted a formal carrier performance evaluation and presented its top carriers with awards.

'The focus we bring to our relationship with ENACT ' which emphasizes superior performance across the fundamentals of the business ' is the foundation for an exceptional quality service experience,' said Greg Lehmkuhl, executive vice president and chief operating officer, Con-way Freight. 'It's a winning formula. This is an accomplishment shared by many people throughout our network. We are grateful and thankful to ENACT for choosing Con-way Freight to receive this prestigious award.'
