Ten months after the start of round-trip air services from Dubai to Toledo, Ohio via Frankfurt-Hahn in Germany, Schenker AG is doubling capacity on this route. Owing to massive demand, a second flight has now been introduced.

In addition to the airplane that flies from Dubai to Toledo and back every Saturday, a few days ago a second aircraft was put into service, starting its round trip in Dubai every Wednesday. "Our experience over recent months has shown that the service we offer represents an interesting solution for the increasingly complex supply chains of the electronics, automotive, mechanical engineering and apparel industries," says Dr. Thomas C. Lieb, Member of the Board of Management of Schenker AG responsible for global air and ocean freight.

DB Schenker's regular round trip flights from Dubai to Toledo, Ohio via Frankfurt-Hahn, have been linking markets in Asia, Europe and the US since last June. Frankfurt-Hahn is integrated into DB Schenker's European transportation network; in the same way its US domestic network makes it possible to serve all important cities and economic centers from a single source.

The air freight service is closely linked with the offer of intermodal logistics services on the main routes from Asia to Europe:

SCHENKERskybridge combines the economical ocean freight costs from Asia via Dubai with the speed of air freight. As compared with pure ocean freight, this shortens transit times by as much as 50%, while the costs are up to 50% lower as compared with pure air freight.
