Deutsche Bahn is reducing its earnings expectations for this year on slowing demand at its freight and its logistics units, German paper Sueddeutsche Zeitung reported, citing unidentified people from within the company.
Customers in Europe are ordering fewer train transports and demand for air and sea freight is declining in the United States and Asia, leading the company to predict earnings before interest and taxes (EBIT) of 2.6 billion euros ($3.4 billion) for 2013, said the paper.
In March the company forecast an EBIT of 2.9 billion euros for this year. (Reuters)
