DHL Global Forwarding relocates closer to ports

DHL Global Forwarding announced that, effective October 1st, it will relocate its ocean freight and customs brokerage operations in Charleston, SC to expanded facilities closer to the Port of Charleston and Charleston International Airport.

The facility, located at 5955 Core Road, North Charleston, SC 29406, will combine the now-integrated operations of the former DHL Danzas Air & Ocean and Exel Global Logistics freight management operations, each of which previously did business at separate locations in Charleston. DHL Global Forwarding's operations will now be closer to the Port of Charleston, which will improve the quality and timeliness of service to ocean freight and customs brokerage customers.

'We relocated and combined our operations after determining the two separate facilities were not large enough to accommodate the expanded needs of our customers after our companies were integrated,' said Ben English, District Manager, Charleston, DHL Global Forwarding. 'Charleston is the second largest container port on the East Coast, is our primary port for ocean cargo moving to and from the Southeast US, and is our import gateway for less-than-container load traffic transiting from Europe. Our new facility will better accommodate our robust product offerings, and will position our customers and our company to capitalize on Charleston's increased prominence in international trade and commerce.'
