DHL Supply Chain announced a five-year contract with Nike to establish a new distribution center in Louveira / S'o Paulo, Brazil. The operation was transferred from its former location in Guarulhos / S'o Paulo to Louveira, and is part of an existing DHL campus, Louveira Distribution Park, which includes four other distribution centers. Nike has been a DHL Supply Chain customer since Nike established operations in Brazil in 1999.

The new facility supports a fast-growing operation currently with more than 30,000 stock-keeping units (SKUs) representing three different business units: footwear, apparel and equipment. The facility receives goods from several different countries, as well as a broad range of domestic suppliers. It is designed to support Nike's anticipated growth for the next five years.

'To ensure our solution delivers global best practices in the retail sector, our local DHL Supply Chain team interacted intensively with counterparts in the United States and Canada. This effort was also validated by Nike's supply chain team in Beaverton, Ore.,' said Ronaldo Silva, Business Development Director in Brazil for DHL Supply Chain.

DHL Supply Chain's solution includes receiving, storage, order picking, distribution and reverse logistics. The team also provides value-added services such as labeling, packing, defect analysis and rework. DHL Supply Chain will soon deploy a new warehouse management tool designed to support the fashion and retail product specifications.
