DHL Supply Chain was recently honored as Brazil's best logistics operator for the third consecutive year by the Supply Chain and Logistics Institute (ILOS). The annual award, based on peer research, honors logistics companies with the highest service-level ratings in multiple industry categories.

The award, sponsored by Volvo of Brazil, was presented at a ceremony in S'o Paulo. In addition to claiming top honors, DHL Supply Chain was rated first in eight out of nine categories, including: automotive; chemical and petrochemical; electronics; food and beverage; pharmacy, hygiene, cleaning and cosmetics; and retail.

'We are honored to be recognized by our peers in Brazil's logistics community again this year,' said Luis Fernando Moreira da Silva, Operations Director for DHL Supply Chain. 'Brazil's supply chain companies become more sophisticated and competitive every year, which pushes us to work even harder. This award reflects the dedication of our people who work every day to serve our customers with excellence and efficiency.'

The ratings, developed by the Center of Logistics Studies at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro and Tecnologistica Magazine, were based on surveys of 378 Brazilian logistics professionals from among the country's top 1,000 companies.

The 2008 awards marked the 8th year for the ILOS program, previously known as the Volvo Logistics Award. ILOS created the program to promote and advance the logistics industry in Brazil, the world's fifth-largest country.
