Leading food and beverage flavor manufacturer prepares for international growth

DHL announced a new agreement with WILD Flavors, the largest privately held manufacturer of flavorings and ingredients for beverages and food products, to serve as the company’s primary express and ground parcel shipping provider. Under the new two-year agreement, DHL will provide domestic express air and ground services, International Express import and export, as well as air and ocean import, export freight and customs house brokerage as WILD Flavors continues to expand into international markets.

WILD Flavors ships its liquid, powder and manufactured flavorings for use in consumer products to food and beverage manufacturing plants in North America, Mexico, and worldwide from its distribution center in Erlanger, Kentucky. During the five-year relationship with WILD Flavors, DHL has transported flavor and ingredient samples and product concepts to customers and prospects for WILD Flavors’ domestic customers and handled the import and export of large volumes of raw materials to manufacturing plants and finished product to distribution centers.

‘DHL has enabled WILD Flavors to create an optimal supply chain as our company has expanded our transportation needs to new regions around the world,’ said Steve Kennedy, logistics manager for WILD Flavors. ‘DHL’s support has been better than we could have imagined and their high level of personal service cannot be duplicated with any other transportation and logistics provider. As our company continues to grow and provide services to global customers who are opening manufacturing facilities and distribution on multiple continents, we will be expanding our partnership with DHL for their import-export expertise and superior global capabilities,’ continued Kennedy.

WILD Flavors will now outsource its entire shipment processing to DHL and leverage the company’s expertise to manage all elements of its international shipping process, including overseeing the proper assignment of tariff classifications to ensure a smooth clearance process.

‘DHL is uniquely suited to provide the global expertise American businesses need as they expand their customer base internationally and introduce new product lines around the world,’ said Randy Briggs, Sr. Vice President of Multinational customers for DHL Global Forwarding, North America. ‘DHL supports industry leaders like WILD Flavors with the expertise, customized support, and quality services to enable their growth and international success.’
