DHX-Maui has just opened'a new freight handling facility on Maui, one of the Hawaiian Islands. The new facility will serve business and residential communities on Maui.

The new 41,000 square foot terminal, located in Maui's principal city of Kahului, will handle both inbound and outbound freight from all over the world.' It is strategically located, just 10 minutes from the dock areas and the Kahului Airport.' The facility is equipped to handle all types and sizes of freight; from heavy, oversized cargo to full container loads, and to smaller packages.

'In announcing the opening of the DHX-Maui stand-alone facility, Tim Forkner, Hawaii Regional Manager, commented, "this new state of the art terminal answers the needs of Maui business and residents for a high quality, competitively priced cargo service."' Forkner emphasized the terminal is operated by company personnel and utilizes its own trucks for all deliveries.' "What sets us apart from our competitors is that we control each shipment from the point of origin until it is delivered to the consignee on Maui," said Forkner. "We do not hand it off to agents which allows greater control of the shipment by cutting out the middleman."

Forkner noted the entire island of Maui is served by the new terminal. "We deliver everywhere, from the top of Maui's Haleakala crater to the remote town of Hana," said Forkner.

The Hawaii Regional Manager pointed out that all deliveries are pre-scheduled. "Unlike other services where deliveries are made at random, we notify each customer in advance. On customer request, we have capabilities to notify automatically the customer via e-mail or fax when the shipment leaves the U.S. Mainland.

There are 12 dock spaces for rapid loading and unloading of trucks. While the facility is open officially from Monday through Friday, deliveries can be made on a 24/7 basis when arranged in advance.

The manager of the new terminal is Wilfred Robello or "Jr." as he is locally known.' He was born and raised on the island of Maui and has worked in the transportation industry for the past 30 years.

DHX-Maui, Inc. is an independent, commonly owned sister company of DHX-Dependable' Hawaiian Express ("DHX"), the largest freight forwarder serving the Hawiian Islands and Guam.' DHX has been providing freight forwarding services to the Islands for almost 30 years.' Other related companies include DGX-Dependable Global Express and DAX-Dependable AirCargo Express, in addition to trucking companies on the islands of Oahu, the Big Island and Guam.

The address of the new terminal is:' DHX-Maui Consolidated'Baseyards, Subdivision, 449 E. Ahuli'u Way, Waikapu, Maui, Hawaii 96793.
