The new EL AL 747 jumbo aircraft has the ability to transport an increased capacity of cargo as well as oversized and heavier payloads, which include items such as cars, animals, oil equipment, helicopters, and various types and sizes of machinery. To easily and safely load extremely long cargo on to the aircraft there is a 'nose' door, which is in addition to the common 'belly' door.
A few interesting facts about the new aircraft are: the maximum weight at departure is 395 tons, the highest payload is equal to124 tons, the fuel capacity is 164 tons, and the volume per flight is 625 cubic meters.' There is an allocation of 30 main deck positions consisting of 23-Q7's (3M/118 inches), 7-Q6's (2.4 M/96 inches), '9 lower deck positions (each 64 inches) and 15 cubic meters of bulk.
