Cathay Pacific April cargo traffic falls 0.6%
Cathay Pacific Airways Ltd said its freight traffic dropped 0.6 percent year-on-year in April on weak air cargo demand.
Passenger numbers and load factor in April fell 2.6 percent and 1.9 percentage points, respectively, as weak demand was exaggerated by the Easter holiday effect.
Easter fell in late March this year, while it was in April in 2012. News of the avian influenza A (H7N9) outbreak in mainland China became more wide spread in April and this had a negative impact on inbound traffic into key ports in eastern China, the airline said in a statement. (Reuters)
