Circumference America reports record Q4
Radius Rail Intermodal Unit is CAI’s fastest growing subsidiaryCircumference America, Inc. (CAI), a non asset-based transportation holding company with operating subsidiaries that focus on truckload, less-than-truckload, expedited and intermodal transportation services, has announced a strong showing in the fourth quarter of 2007.
For the quarter ending December 31, 2007, CAI and its operating subsidiaries handled 1,339 shipments of truckload and intermodal freight. This compares to 3,758 shipments during its first full year of operations, which ended September 30, 2007.
Contributing substantially to this growth trend was Radius Rail, CAI’s intermodal transportation operation. It handled 748 shipments or 56% of the quarterly total, compared to 1,061 shipments during its first year of operations, which was 28% of the full year total.
“Radius Rail is clearly our fastest growing operating unit,’ said Mike Steele, president and CEO, Circumference America, Inc. ‘In the last quarter of 2007, Radius Rail grew at twice the rate of our truckload division, which also had a strong showing. We contribute this success to the market’s growing interest in intermodal as a significant transportation mode.’
