New WCA Family VP to focus on member relations
WCA Family of Logistic Networks has appointed Brian Majerus as vice president. He will be responsible for developing business opportunities within the WCA Family membership and promoting optimum member-to-member relations worldwide, but primarily in North America. He will be based in Chicago, which is central and convenient for travel to all parts of North America.Brian has an impressive track record both as a forwarder and in networking for the industry. A graduate of St. Louis University, he has spent the last ten years in the freight forwarding side of the business, working in operations for the first three years. For the last three years he has been vice president in charge of Asia Route Development for Greensborough, USA-based CaribEx Worldwide. His knowledge of the freight forwarding sector together with the networking aspects of the industry give him a bi-partisan view on all aspects of international business involved in the relationship between a network and forwarders.
When the opportunity arose, John Ford, president and chief executive of CaribEx, kindly gave WCA Family his full consent to talk to Brian about a switch. He took up his new appointment October 1.
Brian said, ‘I am looking forward to working closely with the great sales staff our president David Yokeum has already in place worldwide for our members. I am excited at the prospect of bringing a grander scope in North America and working to enhance the professional attitude our members expect from such an established group of international networking experts.’
David Yokeum, president of WCA Family of Logistic Networks, welcomed Brian’s move as well as thanking John Ford for allowing the company to talk to Brian. ‘It is vital that we recognise the needs of our member forwarders and their professionalism and the calibre of their operations. They seek to partner worldwide with other WCA Family members and Brian is ideally placed to help our networking operations become even more effective for all members.’
