Variglog extends cargo-handling contract with Fraport Cargo Services
Fraport Cargo Services announced the extension of its handling contract with long-time customer Varig Logistica. As a result, Fraport Cargo Services (FCS) will continue to perform the physical cargo handling for the Brazilian airline that has been cooperating with FCS for many years. The documentation of shipments, on the other hand, is carried out 24/7 by the airline’s own staff in the Frankfurter cargo office.‘We are very pleased about the extension of the contract. Variglog has been a very valuable customer for years, and we highly appreciate the close collaboration with the colleagues on site.’ ’ says Winfried Hartmann, Managing Director of FCS.
Variglog currently operates five times a week with MD11-freighters out of Frankfurt: On Tuesdays to Sao Paulo (GRU), Wednesdays and Sundays to Viracopos (VCP), Curitiba (CWB) and Sao Paulo (VCP), Fridays to Sao Paulo (GRU), as well as Saturdays to Sao Paulo (VCP) ’ each time with a stop at Sal, Cap Verde (SID). The summer schedule 2008 plans for five weekly flights once again.
‘Fraport Cargo Services has been a reliable partner of Variglog for many years. We particularly appreciate FCS’s high-quality service with its special focus on customer orientation. Furthermore, the short distances between the warehouse of FCS and our aircraft positions are of utmost importance for us. FCS-staff is familiar with us and our requirements in every detail ’ this really facilitates everyday work.’ ’ says Mohamed Soliman, Regional Operations Manager Europe and Africa at Variglog.
