Suderman Contracting Stevedores and Suderman Terminals in the U.S. Gulf are rebranded as Metro Ports
Nautilus International Holding Corp. Chairman, President & Chief Executive Officer James R. Callahan announced the rebranding of its subsidiaries Suderman Contracting Stevedores, Inc. and Suderman Terminals, Inc. to its established nationwide subsidiaries Metro Ports, Metro Cruise Services and Metro Shore Services. Effective Jan. 1, 2013, Metro Ports, Metro Cruise Service and Metro Shore Services will become the totally operative brand service and business identification of Suderman. This change will have no effect on the current legal status of the Suderman companies. The Suderman companies serve a diverse array of cargo and cruise sectors, including dry bulk, project cargo, wind energy and the passenger cruise industry. Headquartered in Galveston, Texas, and with operations in various Texas ports, Suderman has a long history of stevedoring and terminal operations dating back to the 19th century. Since Nautilus purchased Suderman Contracting Stevedores and Suderman Terminals in July 2011, Suderman and Metro Ports have complemented each other synergistically, brought additional business opportunities, increased operational efficiencies and realized improvements through innovative service solutions.
Metro Ports will bring the marketing strength of the national brand and operational support of the organization to the U.S. Gulf Coast operations as Suderman now is fully integrated into the Nautilus/Metro Ports environment.
Under the Metro Cruise Services (MCS) banner, all Suderman cruise operations are integrated with a continued focus on execution, safety and training. MCS strong processes, attention to details and customer service allowed Suderman to continue to thrive. Following the 2011 acquisition of Suderman, MCS added Princess Cruises and Disney Cruise Line to its client portfolio in Galveston.
With the establishment of Metro Shore Services in Galveston, the company is positioned to commence its comprehensive services to the passenger cruise industries as opportunities arise.
