Bunn Fertiliser expands to Teesport
Bunn Fertiliser Limited has signed deal with PD Ports to help supply its Scottish and northern UK customers with urea and Koch Advanced Nitrogen® fertiliser products.Bunn is continuing its nearly 200-year legacy of agricultural service across the UK by adding PD Ports’ Teesport facility to its extensive production and distribution network. Teesport is less than a mile from the mouth of the River Tees, and offers 80,000 square feet of storage capacity that Bunn will utilise to supply the Scottish and north of England markets. The first shipment arrived on 11th January.
Bunn’s selected Teesport as it offers increased distribution capabilities to the company’s existing network of eight terminals that are conveniently positioned within 100 miles of approximately all UK farmland.
With growing demand for enhanced efficiency fertilisers, the Teesport terminal will allow Bunn to supply Koch Advanced Nitrogen® fertiliser to a larger territory. The product, powered with AGROTAIN® nitrogen stabiliser, is made to enhance nitrogen uptake as an alternative to ammonium nitrate.
“The new Teesport terminal provides the same capacity as Bunn’s Avonmouth facility,” said Richard Sunderland, managing director. “As the value of Koch Advanced Nitrogen® fertiliser has continued to spread by word of mouth, we view this as a great opportunity to make the product available on a broader scale.”
According to Richard, Bunn is currently under contract to operate at the Teesport terminal for five years. “We are looking forward to a long, productive relationship with PD Ports and all of the people who Bunn can now serve from this region.”
Jerry Hopkinson, PD Ports’ Managing Director Bulks, Ports and Logistics, added: “We are delighted to have reached a long term contract with Bunn Fertilisers Limited and very much look forward to working with Richard and his team to provide a great service to Bunn’s customers from the Teesport terminal.
“The conclusion of this contract is another important milestone along the route of our drive to expand the commodities and markets handled via Teesport.”
