Maija Lampinen Earns Certified Professional Public Buyer (CPPB) Credential
Maija Lampinen of the Port of Everett was recently awarded the Certified Professional Public Buyer (CPPB) Credential by the Universal Public Procurement Certification Council (UPPCC).
Lampinen was among 240-professionals from throughout the nation who successfully completed the CPPB examination held May 6 – 18 2013. Established in 1964, this prestigious certification is an outstanding honor for individuals employed in the public procurement profession and is an asset to their specific division of governmental administration.
Lampinen is the Port’s Procurement and Contracts Administrator, and is responsible managing contract administration, purchasing, and public bidding processes for the Port of Everett to ensure compliance with federal and state laws, grant requirements and Port policies.
“Achieving the CPPB certification has been an intense, but rewarding, process,” Lampinen said. “The strategies, skills and knowledge I gained in pursing this certification are invaluable and I’m excited by this opportunity to bring increased value to the Port in the areas of procurement and contracts.”
