Moscow Domodedovo Airport: results for June and the first six months 2013
According to Domodedovo Airport results for June 2013, passenger traffic increased by 9.1% compared to June 2012 and amounted to 3.0 million travelers. The overall flights number grew by 3.4% and totaled 24.3 thousand takeoff and landing operations.
The largest passenger traffic growth in June recorded in international passenger traffic adding +13.5% to June 2012; reaching 1.9 million passengers. Domestic airlines for June 2013 grew by 2.5% compared to last year and amounted to 1.1 million travelers.
Domodedovo freight traffic for the first month of summer reached 16.7 thousand ton that is 2.5% higher compared to June 2012. According to the first half of the year 2013 results, Domodedovo passenger traffic amounted to 13.9 million people and increased by 12.6% compared with the same period in 2012. Flights number grew by 4.6% and amounted to 122.3 thousand takeoff and landing operations.
January-June 2013 passenger traffic results on domestic routes totaled 5.6 million passengers that 12.2% higher than for six months of the last year. The utmost growth recorded on the following internal directions: Makhachkala, Rostov-on-Don, Krasnodar, Saint Petersburg and Mineralnye Vody. Passenger traffic on these directions reached 1.4 million people, that 28.1% higher than for six months of the last year.
International passenger traffic for January-June of the current year totaled 8.3 million people. (+ 12,9% to January-June 2012). The highest growth was recorded on the following international routes: Hurghada, Sharm-el-Sheikh, Antalya, Barcelona, Munich. In the first half of 2013 1.7 million passengers were transported for the mentioned directions, that is by +43% higher compared to 2012. Domodedovo airport freight traffic for the first half of the year 2013 increased by 4.1% compared to the same period of 2012 year and totaled 92.9 thousand ton.
