NewPort Tank Containers and Sinochem International announce plans to create worldwide tank container
NewPort Tank Containers and Sinochem Safe Transport have announced plans to create a common ownership platform for its combined international, deep-sea tank container operations. Previously the entities have worked since 2009 with an “operating agreement,” allowing the two companies to operate as one company, but two brands. Under the new ownership structure, the partners will create a single brand and organization worldwide in order to better serve its global chemical and food grade clients.
“We are extremely pleased with this development,” says Fred Hunger, NewPort’s founder and Chairman. “With the deep relationships and know-how inside China, and its breadth of service capabilities including parcel tankers, warehousing, and storage terminals, there simply is no better partner for us and our customers.”
Sinochem International, the leading Chinese provider of chemical logistics, gains a global presence as it expands its investment in NewPort. “NewPort has been a great partner for Sinochem. Its worldwide team of professionals, combined with our presence throughout Asia, will create one of the leading companies in our space,” says Liu Hongsheng, Vice President of Sinochem International and head of its Sinochem Logistics subsidiary.
The new company will operate a fleet of over 12,000 deep-sea tank containers and has owned office structures in China, USA, Mexico, The Netherlands, Germany, France, Brazil, Dubai, and a recently established joint venture in Saudi Arabia. “Our strength is in our people and their ability to respond quickly and professionally to our customers,” adds Michael de Rijk, NewPort’s President whom is based in the company’s Moerdijk, The Netherlands office. “NewPort provides a technical know-how and high level of customer interaction which differentiates our service.”
NewPort Tank Containers is a major supplier of worldwide tank container logistics to the petrochemical and food industries. NewPort provides worldwide, deep-sea transportation of bulk liquid chemicals and foodstuffs through its dedicated fleet of ISO tank containers and a comprehensive, global operational and customer service network.
