AMI Australia launches global online express services
click2ship was first launched in the UK in 2010. Using click2ship, customers can obtain all-inclusive quotes online, easily convert these to bookings, arrange collection, then track their shipments to destination; they can optionally deliver shipments to an AMI receiving centre, and arrange insurance cover.
AMI click2ship Australia provides door-to-door services to and from any destination worldwide, using major integrator services. The service accepts any item from envelopes and small packets up to 30 kilo pieces, and there is no limit to shipment size. Shipping of items which exceed click2ship piece weight limits can be initiated online, and is then handled through AMI’s conventional carrier channels.
During the initial trial, click2ship Australia business volumes have doubled each month. Says Sonya Ashcroft, Head of click2ship - Oceania, “The initial take up has been extremely positive, and AMI is responding by adding further resources to accommodate the rapidly growing traffic flows”.
“This is a revolutionary concept for Australia: an integrator-style, premium express door-door service that’s available exclusively to freight forwarders and courier companies. Our customers can access the system while they are visiting their own clients, and produce instant quotes or advise on shipment status.
“We are confident that the convenience and speed of click2ship’s all-inclusive online quotes and bookings, together with its highly-competitive rates, will make it as successful here as it has been in the UK.”
AMI is now gearing up to launch click2ship in New Zealand later in October.
