enVista, a leading supply chain consulting and IT services firm, announced that Vincennes University Logistics Training and Education Center (VU LTEC) selected enVista to implement state-of-the-art supply chain and technology solutions at the university’s 40,000 square foot facility in Plainfield, IN. enVista was selected based on both its deep supply chain expertise and the company’s ability to respond quickly to the university’s needs. As part of this partnership, enVista will make an in-kind donation of a portion of its services. Additionally, enVista will provide deep price discounts on hardware technology for the facility. VU LTEC’s partnership with enVista allows the educational center to attain the necessary infrastructure and optimal processes to fully support a self-sufficient shipping operation. enVista will develop, install and train users on several warehouse technology solutions. Specific enhancements will include the integration of RF scanning devices, the installation of Pick-to-Light and Voice Picking Systems for order fulfillment, and the implementation of Microsoft Dynamics AX® 2012 Advanced Warehouse Management System (Dynamics AX). Dynamics AX will enable improved productivity, accuracy and visibility into warehouse operations. The solution also automates inbound, warehouse and outbound logistical processes where the focus is on the physical movement of goods. VU LTEC Director of Logistics James Dolan said, “Our goal is to produce a trained, educated and certified workforce. If there is a new technology or process in the logistics industry, we want our students to have the opportunity to learn it firsthand. enVista is enabling us to provide our students hands-on experience with today’s advanced supply chain and information technology. I look forward to our continued partnership.” Bruce Eicher, Senior Managing Partner at enVista, said, “We are excited to partner with VU LTEC to enhance the university’s supply chain and logistics training programs and to share our supply chain knowledge with young professionals in our own community. enVista is proud to invest in the future of the logistics workforce by partnering with Vincennes University.”
